CHALICE WELL
Printable Version |
ABOUT CHALICE WELL
At the foot of the Glastonbury Tor is the Chalice Well, a place of beauty, peace, and healing. Spiritual Pilgrims of all kinds have come to this special place from time immemorial. Here, according to legend, Joseph of Arimathea hid the chalice of the Holy Grail, and the waters of the well are claimed to have healing powers. Visit the Chalice Well Website where you will see a virtual trip up through the garden to the Chalice Well, known locally as the Red Spring, or the Blood Spring. There are so many special places to visit in this garden. The Chalice Well can be found on the main A361 road towards Shepton Mallet, at the foot of Glastonbury Tor. There is parking for Disabled Badge holders and public parking is generally available at the nearby Rural Life Museum in Bere Lane. There is, from the beginning of April to the end of September, a shuttle bus between the town center, (outside the Abbey), Chalice Well and the Tor, so you can park your car in one of the town center car parks if you wish. Chalice Well is 15 minutes walk from the town. |
